Description
In mountains encounter sometimes you might encounter a map with cave. If you decide to enter one you'll find additional location tied to encounter. All caves are containing lootable bones container. In the bones you can find various items. All caves are also containing some kind of enemies. In addition to that caves are also spawning minerals and ore deposits from which wastelanders armed with Pickaxe may extract resources. On the side note in some caves you can find rock scattered through the floor - if you're rock collector this may be the biggest reason to go there. While exploring caves beware of other players that can easily ambush you.
Cave Types
There is only 6 different maps of caves:
This is small tunnel type cave.
Big cave with lots of room to manuver while clearing it.
Medium sized cave with long entry tunnel.
Biggest cave map in FOnline 2. I personally hate them since searching through it is tiresome.
Almost as big as cave type 4. This one is also very tiresome to browse.
My favorite cave map in FOnline 2. On the screen in place where Tandi stands there is a small choke point allowing defending player to easily beat the cave critters, as only one monster at the time can attack player standing there.
Cave Creatures
As Cave are pretty good shelter for wasteland creatures every one of them is containing some creatures living them. Here's a list of what you might encounter:
There is about 5-8 of them per cave - A mix of big deathclaws and small ones. Probably the rarest encounter.
It's also possible to hit only small Deathclaws.
- Rats & Mutated Rats (30 exp for normal, 70 for mutated, 5-8 per cave) - Standard cave rats with supporting them mutated cave rats. Clearing them out is piece of cake.
- Pigrats & Mutated Pigrats (80 exp for normal, 120 for mutated, 5-8 per cave) - A mix of pigrats and mutated pigrats. Sometimes you can hit on 100% mutated pigrats or 100% standard pigrats. Every one of those cases isn't that dangerous.
- Molerats & Mutated Molerats (120 experience for normal, 220 for mutated, 5-8 per cave) - Highest grade of rats. And as with all rats its piece of rat cake.
Ore & Minerals Deposit
Every cave will spawn some resources deposits. A standard pickaxe is required for mining them. The possesing of resources from cave deposits is usually much better idea than using the non-caves ones.
Bones
In every cave you can find bones of long forgotten wastelander. Its spawns a random loot. Here's 50 examples of loot that you can find(click to enlarge)
Note: Unfortunately starting from season 3 the following section of wiki is outdated. The Alien Blaster is currently only found in special encounters, and G11E can be acquired only in Sierra Armory or crafted using rare tier 4 crafting components.
