Cover System
Standing behind cover increases a character's dodge chance by 25%. This means roughly 25% of incoming attacks will miss.
The cover bonus is applied separately and does not change the visible hit chance shown in the interface.
How Cover Works
Cover is defined as a blocked hex directly next to the character.
Valid cover objects are:
- Objects that block movement
- Objects that do not block line of sight
- Objects that the player can shoot through
In practice, this usually includes small obstacles such as crates or low barriers.
Other characters also count as cover. Players can use teammates as protection by positioning behind them.
The cover bonus only applies if the attack comes from the direction of the cover.
Important Notes
- Cover does not guarantee attacks will miss
- Only attacks coming from the covered direction are affected
- Attacks from other directions ignore the cover bonus
- Positioning is important for effective use of cover
- Burst attack each individual bullet roll miss/hit
