Overview
Parties allow up to 8 players to group together for shared travel, coordinated combat, and a party-wide stat bonus from the Squad Leader perk. Party members appear with cyan-colored names and outlines, making them easy to identify. Parties are temporary.
How It Works
Creating a Party
A party is automatically created when you invite your first member. There is no explicit "create party" command — simply invite a player by name, and the party forms around you as the leader. The first person in the party is always the leader.
Inviting Members
Invite a player by entering their name through the party interface. The target player receives a confirmation dialog — "Join [Leader]'s party?" — and must accept to join. Invitations are blocked if the target is in combat, already in another party, or offline.
Leaving and Kicking
Any member can leave the party at any time. Only the leader can kick other members. The leader cannot be kicked. When the leader leaves, leadership passes to the next member in the party. If membership drops to 1 person, the party is automatically disbanded.
Party Size
The maximum party size is 8 members including the leader. Attempting to invite beyond this limit is blocked.
Following and Map Travel
Auto-Follow
Each party member can toggle Auto-Follow on or off. When enabled, the member automatically follows any player when he exits a map to the world map - no confirmation prompt appears. When disabled, a confirmation dialog is shown instead.
Follow Conditions
To follow the player to a worldmap, a member must:
- Be on the same map as the leaver
- Be within 7 hexes of the leaver
- Not be in combat (battle timeout blocks leave)
If any condition is not met, the member is notified and does not follow.
Party Transit
When the worldmap group leader enters a map, all worldmap group members automatically follow along. If travelling by car, the driver's party follows in the same vehicle. Party members who follow appear near the leader at the destination.
Squad Leader Perk
The Squad Leader perk provides a passive stat bonus to all party members. The bonus value depends on the leader's Squad Leader perk level. Only the leader's perk matters — if the leader does not have Squad Leader, no party bonus is applied.
Visual Indicators
Party members are highlighted on the map with:
- Cyan-colored name text
- Cyan contour outline around the character
This makes party members easy to distinguish from other players and NPCs in crowded areas.
